This Native American's Creed - Bronze

Oh, One Supreme Being, everything and everywhere,
let me know how to see your continual help by sacrifice and prayer.

Remind me how I live in my here and today
affects the end of my trail at the end of the way.

Help me protect this body that is an earthly testament,
that my bones might be my eternal monument.

Wash me with your heaven’s bath that body might be clean
so I might be ready, when your face is seen.

In my feast and famine, let me know the hunger best,
Push me to isolation so I am forced to do my vision Quest.

Be sure that I revere my parents and in old age care for them
so my children might do the same in my “if” and “when”.

Remind us all that we own but protect all here on earth,
for we are merely visitors and possession has no worth.

Let me hurt no man, even in revenge and battlefield,
for which I can not make recompense for what that loss will yield.

Let my morals be acceptable to what you deem as right,
And, if I fail, and fail I will, let me suffer through the night.

Let my mouth speak only truth, and my words a promise true,
so truth might be reflected when I report to you.

Remind me by your creation’s beauty, that I must beauty be;
walk in beauty, live in beauty, let beauty reside with me.

Teach me to live a simple life, one free of grime and greed.
Let me suffer in my want, and pray in my need.

Let Peace be my focus in all I do and say,
and give peace to other journeyers, as they walk along my way.

Force me to face my courage and let not fear rule the way I live.
Put me in situations where my bravery is all I have to give.

Paint me with the colors of joyful life as Medicine of Earth
so, when I am clothed in death, I reflect your creation and rebirth.

Your heart is magnificent, for it reflects intricately the All-in-all. I find the creator does teach me these things and I am not nearly as magnamous in gratitude and purpose as this creed defines your living. It is beautifully written and I feel remorse for my own failures as I look upon these principles. It is full of truth about the IS and lessons to grow in spirit.

This poem was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. I loved everything about it from the idea, to the words, to the flow. Everything, and I mean everything was beautifully done. GREAT job!
