Music of the Night

*Tick* *Tick* *Tick*

There’s a sea of green
With twenty-one white-capped waves.
The first steps are unsettling;
You must become accustomed to the ground wriggling beneath you.

“Ready?”

The bird confidently sings solo,
Beckoning her friends to join.
A brilliant gust of wind sweeps through.
16,000 ears are ringing from a blazing sound.

One, Two, Three, Four

Living as many, moving as one.
Uniform in every sense of the word.
Left to right, front to back.
Each does their duty for the sake of the group.

“Straighter, Higher, Better”

Observation from the watchful eye.
Every motion is recorded;
Scrutiny comes from all sides.
Confidence and determination are the only options.

And down

Shoulder to shoulder,
Halted we stand.
The tide before us rises.
The blazing sound has reversed directions.

Don’t smile

Pride radiates from every soul.
We are sad to see the end;
What a journey it has been.
Moments are temporary but memories live forever.

    the sea of green is ambiguous and a clever play on words. i think it can mean jealousy, growth, or life. it can mean jealousy, in that nowadays people want what other people want and there are a lot of people like that- so there's a sea of people, who are jealous, and in that sense- green. growth- there are many plants in nature that are green and they grow everyday. life- when a plant gives life to another plant, it's bright green. good job
