Right here in the little city
on a peaceful night
a man came all clean and witty
He told us we had hard times
controlling our kids
but he would help sometimes
He started a large band
but said not to practice
just buy instruments on demand
He fell in love with the librarian
one of our own sweet girls
the prized and lovely Marion
We all worked many hours
humming our tunes
waiting to try our luck with our powers
But finally when the time came
and we all blew hard
our little tune didn't sound the same
The man ran off because he was caught
and they realized he was fake
but we all looked and him we sought.
But Marion saved the man she loved
and that day he led us
and we marched playing with sounds from above.
