Comrade at Arms

Comrade at Arms
©copyright 2006 Bonita M Quesinberry, R.C.
dedicated to Joanne Tolles aka thelordreigns

She faithfully stands at my side,
a determined comrade at arms
ever ready to wield her sword
against those who would do me harm.
Thus, when they strike a mighty blow,
love's Light glints on her weapon's steel
as she moves forward in defence
to slay the lies they vilely wield.

There are so few who lend support,
that God's Truth in fear does abide,
and many who will speak smooth words,
fearful of taking either side.
Yea, lies many will support
while Truth's easier to pretend;
yet, about God's grace times seven,
still Joanne rushes to defend.

Fiery words she sends to them
advising of Truth they don't know,
given not by a false prophet
nor by blasphemous winds that blow.
Well she knows man's way is wicked,
needing wrath penned by God's cohorts;
thus, she is quick to defend me
and His Word I teach, she supports.

Though we've never met face to face,
we march to the same battle hymn,
warriors in God's army of love;
that His love or wrath might save them.
Rejoice o'er Joanne, my dear friend
who sees when God's Word is twisted.
My sister in Christ comprehends:
hard words just might save one wicked.

    That was awsome. A great tribute to another soldier of the cross. Keep the faith and keep writing. God Bless!

    God's robe is long and hands are many. Though one's voice may not be very loud, when spread by word of mouth, it is heard by a multitude. Some are week and will not stand up for themselves and God sends Angels. Some Angels don't have wings. Some work with a quill! Love and kisses, The Shaker

    This is beautiful. You are blessed to have this lady in your corner. The more we have in one accord, the more power to send the demons to flee. A great job. and best wishes in the contest. Shancy.

    What a wonderful tribute, great job. The only thing I could possible say that could be improved is this line:and His Word I teach she supports. It reads kinda awkward, maybe needs puncuation?? Your friend must be honored.

    This is so elegantly written; comprehension is overwheming but simple and tranquil in its approach. Moreover by taking this into a sonnet-like feel, one can truly see how you adore this person with admirable(sorry if misspelled) emotions
