Prelude to Death

Love lost and love won
All is fair
I hate you and I want you
Keep you to my self

I want to make you suffer
I want to see you smile
Past trials coming undone
One against the other

What have we gone though?
Only to go again
No progression here
Only this angst and emptiness

Quickly filling up with bitterness
That void cannot be healed
Sand in the open wound
Forever will it irritate

Those words that mean so little
Those words that mean the world
Meaningless voices chattering
When only feelings have sound

Try to hard or not enough
What is left of me?
Open, bleeding, and raw inside
Only death awaits me

But even death is just a prelude
To an eternity together

As hated or as loved
Red strings once forged
Hold…forevermore

Author notes

Not my best, but it's raw.
