War

Take me not down that path of war~
It bleeds my soul of what it needs.
It's tragedy is not declared, win or loss~
but the ones it leaves to grieve.

There are no winners in this fray~
but death and pain and sorrow.
The path to peace in brighter days~
lies in negotiating a better tomorrow.

A note to shivanarani; you will find not every line of a poem is defined by a rhyming scheme every time. And,I happen to be developing my own style in writing rhymed poetry. It may not be to your likeing, but you too will eventually strike out in developing a personalized pattern all your own ,if you stay with it long enough. So you see, nothing PURTURBED here! Personal matter of taste is not a rule. Thanks for reading my feature and commenting though.~~Suseann

    IMPRESSIVE!

    Beautiful write!
Your words flow with truth and compassion.
The last line is the sum of all wisdom indeed.
Profound and powerful within a short poem. How did you do this? Impressive to say the least.
    Blessings! Tammy

Perhaps they are random, yet they resonate, especially for those of us who find war a loathsome past time for a primitive species. Let us continue to hope that sanity prevails.
    Nicely contemplative piece, suseann.

    Far out!

It's always good to hear that there are still war protesters out there. I'm not sure if you're fermiliar with Naomi Shab Nye, but she's a arib-american poet that writes alot of anti-war poetry too. Thats what this one reminded me of.

I like the line that says "The path to peace of brighter days~
lies in negotiating a better tomorrow."

    It's so true dude.
    A truley nice job!
