if i could see this, i’d remember how to make understatement become
earth-shattering.
you’ve noticed how
computerized thesauruses say things
but what makes you better than me is that
i don’t know where i’m going until i get there
(or run into you.)
Deep in my mind
where leaves of literature are so
thoroughly engrained,
rain
or the flying bits of clear crisp
wind, where
recklessly they’ll flutter thereaway --
seems not to worry me.

No, I’m gonna go back to chemistry, I was just taking a break from it [breath]
Maybe valence electrons will take me somewhere new
beyond the ever-haunting stench of
Aviation fuel in a cloudy sunrise.

Impregnating the air with static and commercials and probably politics

Author notes
These lines are unrelated except that they were nearly all inspired by the same thing, but it's a little disconnected, yes, I know. Thoughts?

maybe that last bit should be its own poem... but that leaves it with a weak ending, I think. Not sure. Thanks for the comment; miss you too... and glad you appreciate my wonky way of seeing things.

yes, it's a bit disconnected, but i really don't have a problem with that. this is quite beautiful; i wanted to tuck away almost every other line for the keeping. -
"recklessly they’ll flutter thereaway --"
My favorite line. Yes, it's a bit disconnected but, in no attempt to avoid being unoriginal, time will heal that. Sometimes transitions just pop out at you when you go back and read something two weeks later, 14 more precious days of living under your belt. so no worries there. Some of the ending stuff seems like "extra material" so to speak. But overall, I like this. Especially the first half.
PS. Thanks for the comment on mine. "Like it doesn't know where it's going but it know it won't trip" - I liked that. Interesting way of seeing things. Leave it to you to say it like that, though. Miss you darling. room lotto soon and then we'll be dormmates again at last
