Mommy, Mommy,
Injustice! Injustice!
Make it right! Make it right!
Waaaaa! Waaaaa!
Deep we delve into the human psyche
displayed by our littlest ones…
for is it not injustice that made us cry
from Day One…?
Mommy, Mommy!
Be ready for stern trials and judgments,
oh wise King Solomon of the modern world!
Trust your initial instincts,
whether it’s a quick slap
to prevent impending disaster
or congratulatory praise of support-
that which is done without thinking
is usually not questioned.
It is when a parent becomes trivial
in their demands do children rebel!
They quickly learn what really matters…
they will always listen to what really matters…
it’s the little trivial things
that will become points of contention…
so be ready to back up everything
with wisdom… oh mother-to-be,
start collecting it now…
for the tough questions are inevitable…
“Why did you have us, Mommy?”
Don’t be afraid of a smiling shrug and an “I don’t know!”
Then there is human society...
(It was applicable many times for me!)
Let them grow up and figure it all out
for all of mankind, and become great figures of history!
We are nature,
and cannot explain all things yet…
yawn, OK, it’s 3:16am…
have I said anything of value here?
zzzzzzzzzzzz…! lol

No "slaps" but "taps"... I love the wisdom here Oh Poetry Honorable Son. Cassie will need to hold on to this for when the TWINS become toddlers. I have a 14 month old grandson, a 4 year old grandson and one that's six, and you are so right about;
"so be ready to back up everything
with wisdom…"
This is so like an uncle would advise his niece. Thanks you for the entry and the best of luck to you dear heart.
Much Love,
Renee (Mom) -
Hello, my Mommy Poetry daughter! Glad you and Kara are doing OK... I hope she's just as smart as you are! One hour a day usually does it... Funny, this is the picture I used for the contest to become your poetry Dad!
