A Single Tear

Searching for solitude, searching for peace
I lay on a moonlit beach, looking up at the stars, wondering
Are we alone, is there anything else out there
how beautiful they are, the stars,
I can hear the waves and I can feel the wind
I temporarily find peace and solitude

I lay on a moonlit beach
I try to imagine the immensity of the universe
I see a meteor fly across the sky, and I make a wish
I close my eyes and imagine you
Moments pass and behind my eyelids i feel an illumination
My eyes open and the light is gone

As a warm breeze blow over me
I feel something brush my leg and turn to look.

With my hands behind my head I look to my right
Enclosed in a light as white and brilliant as that from the stars,
I see you laying next to me
With your hands laced behind your head like mine
Is this real or a dream?
My hand reaches for yours, I can feel you!
Our fingers lace together and i can feel your soft skin.
And the light surrounding it is bright and vibrant
I bring your hand to my mouth and kiss it.

I get lost in your eyes
In them i can see every star in every constellation,
in every galaxy in the universe
I can see them as vividly as i can see your chest
rising and falling with every breath you take
You are so beautiful
Is this real or a dream?
I squeeze your hand and tell you I love you
In an echoing voice, you tell me you love me too
I kiss your hand again and move my hand to your forehead,
run my hand through your hair.

My fingers run through your hair
As soft as silk and as warm as the heat from the sun

I roll on my side and look down on your glowing face
Is this real or a dream?
I lower my face to your glowing lips and kiss you
I kiss you for a few moments
It feels like putting my lips on rose pedals
I can smell cinnamon
Is this real or a dream?
As I kiss you and taste your sweet breath, soaking it all in,
I close my eyes for a second, not believing your here
Is this real or a dream?

I open my eyes, my hands laced behind my head,
gazing up at every star of every constellation
of every galaxy in the universe
I remember everything that just happened
The softness of your skin,
the immensity of the light surrounding you,
the silkiness of your hair,
the touch of your lips,
the scent of cinnamon,
and your echoing voice
A tear rolls down my face

It was only a dream
I look to my right
My eyes grow wide as I see the impression your precious body left
A lump forms in my throat as i see something written in the sand
between me and where you were
Written there was
             I LOVE YOU           FOREVER

My wish came true, if only for a minute.  A tear rolls down my face.

I lay on a moonlit beach with my hands laced behind my head
A tear rolls down my cheek
Peace,
solitude,
the scent of cinnamon,
the warm breeze,
the waves
I close my eyes and I dream of you
as I fall asleep

Everything about this is beautiful... your words have the feeling of waves.. as the emotions expressed here.. so that line was perfect. I can relate to this feeling and your descriptions were lovely.. nicely done.. thank you for sharing your words..

I wanted to give you a good long comment or too, but all I can find to say about this one is that I loved it, and really couldn't think of changing a thing.

Hello, returning the favor, and I must say that I am very impressed with this. I don't know if this was what you intended, but I got the feeling that the narrator had lost a lover, and while contemplating the vastness of the universe, he returned from the other side, if just for a moment, in amemory so real that it left a lasting impression. The words are beautifully written, the flow is smooth, the imagery is amazing. Great work, and keep it up.
