Philosophical Ramlings on the Subject of My Ex-boyfriend

I told him,
"You've got to let it flow."
He wasn't listening
Kissing isn't supposed
to be a power play

All that talk about
respect and equality
circle conversations
centered around
his ego

But that's the nature of it
Sacrifice on my part
his pompous ideology
that Christ wasn't light
And I wound up a martyr

We're such good friends now
I'd never let him read this
it would be like hanging him
on a cross
but it just may be good for him
