Thousand

A thousand pieces
Of the same whole
Scattered across the ground before me

I've tried for years to connect them
With one another
With reason
With love
With superglue

They won't combine
There's no complete picture hidden in the pieces

Though there's
A thousand little mirrors
Laying there before me
They'll never show my face

Instead, there in the entirety
I find myself
With a thousand pieces
Of the same hole.

Astounding wit. This is a terrific poem, displaying the emotion and question that each of us have in certain times of our lives. One day you'll piece the mirror together, and there will be a w on that hole. It's never good to feel incomplete. But your poem certainly is, and it's very good.

I really liked it. And I envy your membership. I really want one, but I'm only 15, so I have no money, and my mom would be "whats the point?" about it. T______T!

Anyway, really good poem. I really liked it.

A thousand mirrors that don't reflect what we want to truly see... right?

    Great one, I'm applauding.

this poem speaks to me on a personal level. you've captured the useless feeling i have. i would love to see reflections of myself but it hasn't been there for a while. instead the holes.
i've been working on capturing this feeling and have come pretty close but not like you have
i applaud the poet and the poem

Just remember there are two ways of spreading light, one is to be the candle, the other the mirror that relects. Pick up the pieces and let it shine!

wow! I love the idea of a thousand little mirrors that don't show your face. I'm broken in pieces too but I just try to pick them up one at a time and not cope with all of them at once, I often wonder why we think we are meant to be whole anyway - if there was nothing missing then want would be the point in looking any further than ourselves?
