Innocent

Toxic waste flows through a steady course of red.
The Devil's drink fills once more in  a dry greedy mouth.

Reminiscence of an evil task stained on his hands.
So desperate to wash away the could of guilt with a labeled bottle.

Light strands of hair, not of his own, lay scattered over the back seat.

She had tempted him, this daughter of Eve,
She the witch, She the seducer, She the sinner.

Forgiving excuses drift in synthetic haze,
the perfect explanation.

She shall burn in hell for her wicked deed.
But she was slain by the snake.

Author notes

I truly have no clue where I was going with this piece. I wrote a rough copy last August, it was a extremely hot day. I believe the uneven pattern is a result of the heat getting to my head. Maybe it is average, however. *shrug* I would revise & rewrite, but I like to keep all my works how they are originally, to learn from my mistakes.

I'm quite shy myself!! Though once I'm comfortable around someone I become pretty random, so people think of me as pretty outgoing.. but I'm am extremely shy and I do fear rejection also! Then again I have never been rejected... but oh well. Yeah I've developed a habit with snakes, devils, and demons. *shrug* I think around the time I wrote this, I had just read a murder mystery with a scenario somewhat similar to the poem. thank you for your comment!

You have a thing, it seems, for snakes and devils. This woman was a temptress destined to pay the price for her sins? Damn shame. If it weren't for the women who came after me, I would have had much fewer. I am rather a shy person, I hate rejection.
