Existing in the moments of time,
the riddles and enigmas of life do abide.
As do the obstacles that tangle and ensnare.
Mistakes of today, become the lessons of a time gone by.
The carefully spoken words of the ones who might see,
Cannot compare to the actions of the ones who really know.
The best of intentions will never justify,
the unforeseen consequences of ignorance and folly.
Racing across a vast expanse of an open mind.
Hurtling headlong into the abysmal depths of a rich intellect.
Probing the murky chasms of a slumbering subconscious.
Slowly revealing the long awaited seeds of inspiration and enlightenment.
Yet, even with a wealth of wisdom,
gathered from a lifetime of speculative thought.
We stand in humble amazement,
before the questions that have yet to be asked.
And as our lifetime unfolds,
we strive to make the most of the treasures we find,
existing in the moments of time.

Philosophical, intruiging and yet very simple. This is amazing, thank you for sharing and entering my contest,
Best of luck to you.

thank you for your entry, and your wonderful poem. I stand in humble amazement. The final two lines of the first stanza admonish me, the final two lines of the last, exhort me. Beautifully written and expressed, truly a universal message. BUT. I asked for a new poem, and did not allow for pre-writes. If you had not admitted in your notes that this was written long before this work existed, things would have been different.
