Why do people stare at a person in a wheelchair?

Why do people stare at a person in a wheelchair?

Why do people stare?
At a person in a wheelchair?
Its just not fair
Do they even care?
Do they even have a heart?
Or is it broken apart?
Do they not understand?
That when they stare,
It tears me apart?
Why do people stare?
Well, I really don’t care
But I do know that it hurts,
And nobody can really see
What its like to be me.
Will we ever be treated fair?
Will we ever be able to go somewhere,
Where others won’t stare?
People don’t realize that everyone is
Special and unique in their own way,
But maybe just maybe,
They will one day

    Awesome

I can feel your pain Jennifer. You know whenever I see a person in a wheelchair I get teary-eyed because my mother is permanently disabled now. She lost her leg two years ago due to complications with diabetes. You are so right. Everyone is unique in their own way. It is just not fair for a person to immediately downgrade a person who is in a wheelchair. You keep writing poetry. God has given you that ability. Don't let no one make you feel less then what you are Jennifer!
