Trees like ghostly shadows
Outlines the streets and avenues,
Ghostly and eretheral
Your branches bow lightly,
In the summer you offer us shade
But in the winter
Your twisted arms
Like ghost gnarled fingers
Laugh,tease, and taunt us,
For you are the master
As you bare your wintry arms
Offering us no protection,
In the winter's silent sleep
And you know all too well
We long to see your branches
Abound with lush green buds and growth
With lavender lilacs,
And we may also inhale the heady fragrance of sweet apple blossom blooms
Captivated and Intoxicated
By earths geeen beauty,
Yet you are still majestic
In your winters enchantment of grandeaur,
As your stark bare branches tease us
Knowing that we will patiently await
For your flowering branches
In sweet anticipation of spring,
For God's handiwork
To transform the trees of winter
Into a shady green~

Dark and lonely
Trees like ghostly shadows
Outlines the streets and avenues,
Ghostly and eretheral
Your branches bow lightly,
In the summer you offer us shade
But in the winter
Your twisted arms
Like ghost gnarled fingers
Laugh,tease, and taunt us,
For you are the master
As you bare your wintry arms
Offering us no protection,
Also , by posting these lines , I want to tell you that I can relate those lines into another feeling , From long ago.

Oh, I don't know how I missed this beautiful piece. I know that you can be very eclectic with your writes, but this is so different from your usual style. It is beautiful with its imagery, as you always do, but it is a little more free flowing than your usual meter. Not a criticism, just an observation. I love it completely. Such a soothing message.

So pleased that you are out of the hospital... Your words still capture the images that life paints...

Beautiful write yet again sweety:0,

Well okay, you've been laid up ... so being gone awhile and not letting us have the chance to read what thoughts you conjure and weave we also had to suffer ... and I am not familiar with what you had, but talk around here says its not without pain ... BUT y'know your poetry mind is still going strong there and these thoughts of the upcoming season brings hope to alot of people here (just read the comments!) ... so you get well and uh ... figure out how to punch those keys, eh? Cause we all miss you :-) Oh yeah .... Come See Me Soon! :-)

oh susan, I am so glad that you are back, and that finally you will be ok...kinda a shock to come back and see the site and done up new and all...kinda makes you feel like you were gone longer than you actually were...anyways, always good to see you back, I missed your work
but for you work...always a wonderfull write...but then again, I dont think you have a bad one...love ya ~~jenn -
Amazing write sweet Susan~
In the winters enchantment we find the streets are not filled with the laughter of children and love growing between two people... The trees seem to be dying slowly, just to be brought back to life when the winter subsides... And even with the gloominess and the depressingly cold weather, it still is so beautiful.
That picture was so beautiful hun. I loved it, as I adored this poem.
I am sorry that you have not been feeling well lately. I hope that you and your mom will be doing well very soon and that you can come back and play with all your friends at allpoetry.
I have missed you hun.
Love ya,
~Sarah~

Beautiful poem! Winter does have its own enchantment but it soon wears out its welcome. I am eager for spring to arrive so I can walk outside without bundling up and wearing boots that make me feel so unglamorous! LOL
Take care! Very happy that you're back...I was worried about you!
(((BIGHUGS)))
