If everything was so mechanically wired
The grey area between
Actuarial emotion and text book feeling
Wouldn't seem so abysmal
We've put our passion on auto pilot
Protest wars because it is expected
Of a generation who buys hippy kits from vintage stores
We breathe through coiled copper cords
Our lungs coated thick and black
With the ashes of cigarettes and dead revolutions
Our motivation for technological advancement
Is directly proportional to indifference
We wear the wheel that once led
Great inventors to three lines in history books
On the outside
Begging the world to look at our beautiful pseudo-intellectual babble
Knees bent at awkward angles because these days
We can't get the wheel to spin
Our internal resources aren't in the proper
Single file line order anymore
