Remember when, like lizards
We panted in the shade of rocks?
Now you have gone there is a noticeable chill.
The sun worshippers have fled north
With metamorphosed lobster bodies.
The beach empty.
Wading birds practise ballet steps
In the spent surf.
The plaza is empty.
A chill wind blows down from the Sierras
Banging shutters.
I shiver over a coffee laced with cognac
In the bodega
Where Carmen tut-tutts
Over her recalcitrant cooking fire.
Coke cans rattle in the empty fountain.
When snow flurries cloud the Alhambra
Olive pickers spread green nets on hillsides
Capturing last summer`s sunshine
Condensed into liquid gold.
I feel a greater cold since you have gone.
Since you have gone

I very nice write. I've never been to Spain, but you certainly paint a nice picture of it, even in Winter! Thanks for entering my contest!!!
