Schoolbus and
minivan
fade into morning.
Around back,
the kitchen door stands
slightly ajar.
An early morning
rendezvous waits until
after my wife has
left for work.
Rushing to the kitchen,
I bring her to my lips
and she responds,
whispering steamy kisses
of pungent
coffee.
