How do I deal with not being with you
Not knowing you the wa I want to
Only seeing you once every seven days
It just isn't enough for me
I want to be friends
Maybe someday more than that
But with you chasin her
It may never happen the way I want
You might never get over her
Since you've been chasing so long
Or you may grow tired of the race
And join another - maybe mine
It may just be in my head
But we have so much fun together
We don't know each other well enough
I hope to change that...I really do
How do you do that?
How do you get to know someone that well?
I want to know you so much better
Have a base for whatever may happen
It seems like we would be so good together
If only you would give it a chance
But you are blinded by someone who
Doesn't even want you if you've been chasing her for so long
Why not get to know me...take a chance
I may be what you've always wanted
Make me someone you can turn to if you need a helping hand
Because I'll be there for you
I'd love to be there for you

funny... I guess all of us can relate to this my friend!
because there was someone at sometime that we've met someone that we would have loved to be with. yet circumstances prevented it. or we stood back because of maybe we were too shy to trust that they would have returned our affections. but look at it this way.
if you don't take a chance. You'll never know what might happen. something to think about my friend!

This is a good pievce. Very good free form, although, as someone mentioned before, there are a few lines that break the flow. With this sort of piece, I think Iambic Pentameter might be a good option if you choose to edit this.... but, for a free style, the is excellent, and the feeling throughout is consistent.
