"There are two tragedies in life: one is to lose your heart's desire, the other is to gain it." -- George Bernard Shaw
Obviously Shaw had his heart broken a few times; but me, that's a different story. I've never given my heart away, I've never even put my heart out there because I can't stand the idea of the how much pain must come with a broken heart. If it's a tragedy to gain your heart's desire then what's the point of falling in love? I want to fall in love someday and I want my heart to ache in the good way, but is all the hurt worth it? I don't see how it can possibly be worth it. I'm torn between the two ideas. It's like I'd rather be lonely instead of taking the risk of a broken heart and I've got a few people to be lonely with. At the same time, I want to know what it's like to wake up every morning knowing someone out there is waiting for you, wanting to see you, someone who really cares about you and loves you for everything you are. I used to think that trust is nothing but a lie, but recently I've started finding people that make me feel like I can trust them. So to sum this up, Shaw was right. You eventually lose your heart's desire in some way, but when you gain your heart's desire you lose touch of the things that matter most like friends and family, the things we already have because the only thing on your mind then is your desire. So I agree with Shaw, there are two tragedies in life.
Author notes

You have a good idea girl! Love is sooo hard to stick your whole heart out there because guys love to run tanks and dump trucks over it too possibly see just how bad they can destroy it. But girl I promise there is something thinking of you, dreaming of you, wanting you so bad and they are having just as much feeling disliking love as you. Your going to move, new people will come, who knows what may come your way in life. But honey if the oppotunity comes knocking on your door and you think you've found someone good, jump on the opportunity. But also remember every breaking of your heart make you stronger, makes you one more heart break closer to the man your suppose to spend forever with, one more step to being absolutly okay with what happens, because it happens. Men are dick heads always and girl always seem to fall for them. If you ever need to talk girly you know I am here for you! And sooo agree with your theroy!! LOVE YA!! Thanks for the talk the other night on aim I needed that! THANKS!!

Yes, Shaw held some truth here. There are two tragedies in life. I dislike how love makes us think of nothing except that one other.....wow...I almost wrote a contradictory sentence because dislike almost became hate...which is a word that I choose not to use.
Well, it is so lucky of you to have never had to go through a heart break....they aren't easy on the soul. I guess I am just one of those people that picks myself up fast though...you cannot let one person and their abuse toward you mentality get to you. You just have to move on...it seems like a tragedy, but no buildings were physically damaged...only a heart seemed to cave in....reinflating itself moments later.
Finding your 'love' is overrated....but it is not overrated to love a family, some friends, and all the people you can. Don't let one person steal all of the compassion and beauty that lies in your heart. Keep up the great thoughts and work!
