Wellness

I slip into wellness as a comfortable sweater.
Surrounded by it's security and the pleasure of it's touch.
It engulfs me like the touch of sunlight.
Each cell of my body straining to feel the warmth and softness
as glides through my body.
Holding each second in memory to be worn again.

Very unique write but I could so relate I have a favorite sweater that I won't get rid of it may not look that great anymore but oh it feels so good when I am wearing it lol. Thanks for sharing Theresa

  • A very intresting piece. wearing Wellness on your clothes. very well written thanks for your entry and good luck in the contest/
  • I like how you compare wellness to slipping into a warm cozy sweater! Brilliant! Nice Job!

  • You made it past the audition round. here is the link for the next round:

  • Symbolism

Wearing your thoughts and heart on your sleeve... The comfort of a well-worn and favourite item, can be healing. Thank you for your entry, but I cannot advance it because it did not have "I remember when" as the first line. Well written though!

  • Thank you so much for entering! I enjoyed this poem quite a bit and it meant even more after I read your author's note. A very nice piece... short and sweet yet still powerful.
  • I love this!!! It's short, but beautiful. It makes me yearn for this feeling of wellness in and out, and I liked the sweater simile. You have stunning word usage that makes these lines beautiful:
"It engulfs me like the touch of sunlight.
Each cell of my body straining to feel the warmth and softness..."

thank you for your entry, and good luck...

    Comforting

Hi. I was linked to this piece by the "Random Recent Poem" link. It is very comforting, inside and out. Unfortunately, it doesn't really match my reality, right now, but...^_^...oh, well. I hope it matches yours. God Bless You.

    Sincerely,

      Thank you

Yes, it does match my reality. I have to be reminded to slip into wellness everyday to take away the pain and fatigue. We are our thoughts and it is easy to stay in hiding and shut down mode to deal with the everyday reality. This reminds me that there is a better place to be and if I meditate and bring beauty into my thoughts the day is better. ske
