New Wings

A weary heart made anew
With wings newly grown
She smiles exuberantly
And gives a test flap.

She takes to the sky
With mighty flaps of her wings
And stares down in awe
At everything in sight.

With a fire ignited
In her bright, gleaming eyes
She looks all around
And sees the possibilities arouse.

As she looks to the sky
With clouds floating soundlessly by
She flexes her wings
And soars amid the stars.

This was beautiful. It gave me a vision of you as a wild bird testing the waters.
