She has too many scars they say.
She's old news...
Unable to escape
the pain of yesterday.
Her face sparkles,
Her smile shines,
But they've busted her lips
and blackened her eyes.
Through it all,
her beauty still exists,
and shes much to beautiful
to live in a world like this.

Deep. dark and so tragic this poem about someone who has experienced sexual abuse through rape. Brief is better here I think, not gone overboard, yet this raw and emotional write has us all thinking about what this poor victim had to endure, and what she still has to endure during her life time. What a sad way to have to live out one's life with these memories that don't go away. Sentiments well expressed in these lines - easy to read and understand whatyou are saying in these verses.
