Steady Die Hard Friend

He's seen all the highs and lows this long life has,
worked the nitty gritty hard and seen the pizazz.
A wanderlust filled his youthful high energy days,
traveled his own four corners of history trial blazed

He's the aged child of poor dirt farm stock,
life was never easy for his mom and pop.
Still they managed to raise him to respect,
virtues of hard work for minuscule pay neglect.

His education was acquired at the school of hard knocks,
but he's a God fearing man that finds simple pleasures alot.
A more compassionate faithful friend you'll never find in life,
pour your ol' pal another mason jar drink, he's a true friend delight.

'He's the aged child of poor dirt farm stock'

this is the line that bonded this whole story together, and tell us of the stepping stones and why he learned what he has in the 'school of hard knocks'.

    Thank you for your entry.

A great tribute to a friend I really enjoyed your wordchoice and phrases on this (pizzaz is such a great word, haha) it really gave the whole write a lot of character- which made it stand out that much more. There were a few confusing lines for me, with just the way they were worded "that finds sinple pleasures alot." (that likes simple pleasures alot? its just hard to understand what you mean) the rest of the lines, even the ending, I really enjoyed how you worded it though. Clever. A priveledge to read.
