The cryptic engravings on tombstones old
Whisper darkness and I turn cold
Departing spirits from each ghastly grave
Their souls they have unwillingly gave
I walk through this place of everlasting mourning
A shadowed haunting gives an eerie warning
Moonlight vanishes and night consumes
Tranquility settles in vacant tombs
Descending raindrops begin to fall
On this eternity silence will scrawl
Gray devours the midnight sky
Into this mist is some do fly
Their hollow auras are unforeseen
Their hope dying becomes routine
Their faces are mystical, and almost enchanting
Their escape becomes but unacted chanting
Whisper darkness and I turn cold
Departing spirits from each ghastly grave
Their souls they have unwillingly gave
I walk through this place of everlasting mourning
A shadowed haunting gives an eerie warning
Moonlight vanishes and night consumes
Tranquility settles in vacant tombs
Descending raindrops begin to fall
On this eternity silence will scrawl
Gray devours the midnight sky
Into this mist is some do fly
Their hollow auras are unforeseen
Their hope dying becomes routine
Their faces are mystical, and almost enchanting
Their escape becomes but unacted chanting
Author notes
I wanted to give myself a challenge, so I used all of the words provided! I won't list them all since there weren't any I didn't use. =P
If you hadn't guessed yet, this poem is about walking through a graveyard and seeing some souls going on to a better place, and some being trapped in their current state.

Very interesting idea for a poem. I felt the night air on my shoulders as I read it. I liked it. Best wishes in the contest. Shancy.
