The Spoken words of a Dying Soldier

Why must life end this way?
In a puddle of cold wet blood.
There is to much pain and suffer,
From the wound on my side.

From the wound in my heart,
For my family
For this war to end,
For freedom.

I must lay here to die.
Die thinking of how I'll never see my family again.
It's like putting salt on an open wound,
And how the pain never seems to stop.

It's like in a dream.
You see a path.
You begin to walk.
But there is no end.

It leaves you with no energy,
No way back
You're trapped in your own little world.
Until your angel comes.

You begin to fly away.
You fly to a land where everyone is free.
You can come and go as much as you want.
Then you see your family.

You see them one last time.
It seems as though you've been away so long that,
You have forgotten what they look like
or how they smell.

Then it all disappears from the sound of a bomb.
You're back from your own little world.
To where it is now,
But then you are gone.
