All but to Live for

“I shall wait then,” She ponders
As the world insists on passing her by.
“I shall wait until I can wait no more.”
A single pearl sits on a chain in between her breast,
A single white pearl that glows along with her eyes.
But what calls to her as the world forgets,
And leaves her alone?
What is left to claim,
If there is no one is left to blame?
“Life!” She screams to the ocean and wind,
“Life is all there is to hold on to!
You can give me treasures of any sort,
But \living\ is all there is to live for.”
Her answer was true,
True enough that the world agreed she could not be left alone.
So it stayed with her,
And grew with her,
And died with her.
She becomes,
In not such a quiet way…
The World.
