Future Paths of Yesterday

Wandering along parallel paths
reflecting a faint closeness from far away
passing each other in a search for forever
will they finally find each other today?

The dreams that exist between our ideas
like silent wings fluttering, flightless, unheard
beat back the shadows that gather around us
and may cause passion and love to once again stir!

Feelings buried, guilts within
overpowering in conflicts of wavering hearts
just trade them for time, and season by season
you'll keep your light from flickering out.

So smile today, we here are real,
and the hopes that you hold will always remain.
As I steal your moments, shall I ask your forgiveness
if I do not fulfill? So I pray
that the words I grope for here find some small meaning
and blossom on your future paths of yesterday.

Author notes

sorry, Wanda, a complete failure, I just don't 'feel' this one... it turned out to be more of an 'idea' poem rather than a 'feeling' poem...

    Inspirational.............

WOW! This is a beautiful poem with very nice imagery and thought. I like the alliterations in L1, L2, L3 and L7. My favourite stanza in this is the last one. It has that Zen feeling of being and living in the 'now' present in it and not spending the present moment feeling sad about the past.

Thank you for sharing this nice poem.

    Best wishes,
    Charishma
