Dire Straits.

Poured forth, the
spew of politicians
onto the heads of the unsuspecting
masses;
Grotesque masks grin
foolishly into innocent faces
promising all but giving
nothing;
Proud, undaunted..stands to
face this tirade of falsehoods
questioning each aspect dangled
as a carrot ..fools gold;
X marks the spot...........

    I think the majority of politicans start out honest, but then sadly power seems to stifle the ability of produce what is promised. Many thanks for your comments, as always greatly appreciated

    Ha - yes, Ms Cutie, you see wisdom while also seeing despair; very clever. The problem is both international and multi-cultural, that at least must offer some glimmer of hope. Thank you.

    Interesting topic for a pome - you have said this in a straight forward way - politicians and their promises.

    Can't say I liked the poem. Can say I can relate to the topic though. Interesting fact.....

    Politics.

    Poli-latin word for many

    tics-small, bloodsucking creatures......

    Aye, how true... It's sad that this seems to be the case so many times, though. I wonder how many of them actually - conciously - think about the 'promising all but giving nothing' aspect?
