My soul, alone in complete DARKness
A stark vision of the blackened landscape
Cold and empty, hollowed, barren
Fingers sheath my heart
Closing tighter...tighter
Reality seems so very far away
A distant place and realm
I am fading fast
My imagination takes me to this place
A place of complete nothingness
I catch a brief glimpse
Through the portal of so called life
And realize, there is nothing
But my rotting corpse

DARKness tends to consume everyday surroundings like a black hole that sucks everything in. your write is very spell-bounding. thank you for making my contest DARK landscapes such a success with your entry. i never dreamed that the contest would be overwhelmed with so many entries and i am glad you took the challenge, DARK.
