Psalm 27

Missing image
I trust in the Lord with my enemies all around
even when war arises and they all surround.
I want to dwell with the Lord for all eternity
the beauty of His temple so pleases me.

In time of trouble He shall hide me away
above my enemies so they hear me say.
Lord, I will sing praises of joy up to you
please answer and give mercy on me too.

Your face I shall always seek and I will find
Jesus take me up when life seems unkind.
Do not forsake me or leave me here alone
if my mother and father decide to disown.

Lead me Lord on the path of uprightness
do not give me to the soul of wickedness.
For false witness they bring against me
they spew violence and speak of cruelty.

I have failed to see the goodness of Thee
in the land of those alive, I did not see.
Wait on the Lord and have courage within
He makes hearts strong, have hope in Him.

    Dear Sandygram,

This is a very interesting reinterpretation of an ancient text. It's an admirable task to rework an existing well-known piece, and I think that you did a good job at it.

    Warmly,
