So cold,
So alone.
I was told,
"You'll never find a home."
Then a girl squeals, "Mommy, can I have him, please!"
"No," says Mom, "He's too young and probably has fleas."
"I don't have fleas!" I try to shout.
Still, the girl is dragged away wearing a pout.
"Please, don't leave me!"
I whimper, I cry.
"I'm sick of being lonely!"
She still passes me by...
"No, no! Help!
I can't stay here another day!"
She's gone, and I'll continue to beg and yelp
For a home, until I wither away...
Author notes
I didn't mean to make it so sad, but I'm an unhappy person and couldn't help it. Sorry...I'm just a helpless puppy...

I haven't ever seen a poem like this, I like the line
“Still, the girl is dragged away wearing a pout.”
Its interesting that you have put your self inside a dogs body. An interesting outlook on things. It could even be extended into a short story.
Its a good poem but not really what I was looking for.
