I don’t always pick up my socks from the bathroom floor.
And I may comb my hair next to the kitchen door,
while trying to shut you out with no such luck.
I may dress in front of the open window.
I may dance naked in front of my mirror.
You know that you love me and that is what has you so ticked!
Because I am like a bad pop song playing over
and over again inside your head!
My clothes don’t ever seem to match.
And my lips won’t always say what’s on my mind.
And this is as perfect as I’m going to get.
Now say that you love me too and quit the drama.
Commitment is just not in my vocabulary.
No matter how much I have looked for it,
and believe me I have.
I can’t ever seem to find my keys.
And being early has never really been my thing.
But this is as perfect as I’m going to be.
Just hold me to this: I do love you and that is for sure.
I’m always crashing down.
I’m always on the run,
and to your eyes is where I like to fall on.
And this is as perfect as I’m going to be.

I like the way you have really expressed your feelings in this poem. It is completely honest and seems quite light yet to me it seems as though it has an underlying sense of sorrow and remorse to it. Wonderful use of repetition! Overall, however, a great write. Thanks for entering the contest
