My eyes stung, as I awoke.
A stranger held my coat.
“Hey! Who are you?” I cried.
No one replied.
My vision became clearer.
I laughed, “well this makes my day a little more dearer,”
It was only my coat hanger.
“How could I think it was someone, when I live by myself.”
As I stood up, and walked out my room something caught my sleeve,
as I took my leave.
“Must have been a nail,” I assumed.
I looked out and saw nothing only darkness.
I turned on the light and looked at my clock,
and it was gone, it wasn't’t in its place,
just an empty space.
I looked up as I heard a knock.
“Who’s that I wonder,” said I.
I went upstairs to open the door and to unlock it.
“Hey, brother!” Shouted Ely.
“Oh I wasn't’t expecting you until tomorrow,
go ahead sit.”
“Uh. . . OK sure, I just wanted to talk to you about money. Could you lend me some?”
“What do you need it for?” I asked.
“A weapon,” said Ely.
“A weapon?. . . What was that?” I heard a gun blast.
I looked up, to the next floor.
“I’m just going to . . .”
He was gone, he was nowhere,
There was just an empty chair.
I shook my head, “I guess he went out the door.”
I walked towards the noise,
and saw my sister Joyce.
“What was that loud bang?”
“Oh sorry, it was an accident,” she apologized.
There was blood on her coat I realized.
“What’s that on your coat, and how did you get in?”
“What, you didn't’t see me, I walked right bye you, and this uh. . . I had a burger before I came here, this is just ketchup,” she explained.
“You just missed Ely,” I ignored her stain.
“I know,” she sighed, “I came here to ask you something.
Could you lend me something?”
“What do you need?”
“A couple shovels,” She looked nervous.
“Sure, they’re in the basement near the furnace.
Do you know its raining outside? Are you still. . .?”
I heard someone yelling,
“please don’t, I won’t do any telling.”
I looked out the window, there was two men and lady.
I looked toward my sister,
but she was gone, she disappeared,
it was just an empty room that has been cleared. . .
