We Need To Change

I've got something inside my soul
That acts like a magnet-
        Disturbing the electronics that spin my Cd's of
        Catapulted fiction
       (They sing with no diction)
And it pulls me toward an evolution of feelings
That I can't explain,
       Especially the pain,
       The love,
       The anxiety,
       The hate that plagues society.
So I patiently wait for the haste
To be overcome by a revolution
That I feel I must lead
Of ten to none,
Representing the human race.
Oh and believe me it's a race.
A race to save the world
From the ignorance that convinces us to not love one another,
Not to share with your brothers
       And sisters
In Christ.
We have to stop the heist that has been brought on by the
       (DARE I SAY IT?)
Republicans.
OH NO!
And it's not just the republicans!
But the Democrats, aristocrats, and the tree-huggers that tell us to spay and neuter our cats,
And the Jews and Christians and Atheists alike,
Cuz we're all the same.
Sinners who've tainted this world,
The utopia it should be,
But who can really see?
We've draped the hills with a fog of indifference
And powdered them with an unidentified substance,
Which, ironically, lacks any substance at all
Because we've mined the joys and virtues intended for us
Straight from the mountains we've laced with the ecstasy of sin.
So, it's time to look within and find ourselves
That we might spread the wealth
And turn the world around,
Set its feet on solid ground,
And live not with a band of churlish neanderthals,
But with an international family who support us all.
