A Priceless Birthday Gift

I searched long for the perfect gift for you,
on this your fifteenth birthday;
but nothing measured up to your sweetness
at a value I could pay.
Then, I recalled the greatest gift of all,
the one thing pure I could say,
the one thing I could always do for you;
that a better road be paved.
Thus, from your loving A/P grandmother,
Truth is my best, priceless gift;
which is Love in its finest, purest form.
Truth heals wounds from deceit's rift
and always confirms the true depth of love;
and, when you're down, it will lift.
Truth can see beyond a lie's hazy veil,
that from your life they will sift.
I can do no less than speak Truth to you,
and to serve as a wise guide
when life's road gets bumpy with twists and turns;
when like a frightened horse shies,
I'll be there to keep you moving forward:
with Truth, instead of man's lies.
Use this gift wisely, that God's life you'll have;
not one who forever cries.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMBER -
i feel, at the end of the day, thro all the bad, thro all the good that in all actuality it all can be lost but love. a bit sentimental, even for me, but i feel that's what lasts longer than any of the other things.
including trust.
however, that's my view, not yours. and this either way is a good piece. -
