It Stands

It Stands

Against the hostile sea,
It stands now,
As always.

It will not topple,
Under the force of the world.

The weight,
Has crashed against its sides.

And it has stood,
As proud as the day before.

Slowly crumbling,
Under the withering and growing,
Sea of darkness.

It shines.

As a beacon,
For all those seeking shelter.

To show them the way,
From the darkness.

It has fought,
And forever won.

To hold back the night,
That spreads far beyond.

Love the imagery. I think that in general is one of my favorite ones. The lighthouse standing alone in the storm.
