I love the imagary it put across. I am still trying to understand what a Haiku is. How did you go here anyway?

"I am still trying to understand what a Haiku is..." That is a question, "Condor", that opens a can of worms: there is a certain debate on the suject that will never be competely resolved. Simply put a haiku is an unrhyming three line Japanese poem of 17 sylables or less revolving around themes based the revolution of the seasons.
Someone kindly forwarded me this E_mail address in the spring: http://www.haiku.insouthsea.co.uk/teachbasho_sec3.htm
I keep it on the bar at the top of my "Google" page.
It is a primer for teachers introducing HAIKU to western students.
It isn't long to read but it makes for a complete explanation to start with.
      BON COURAGE!

hi dad! it's tote schnecke, just changed the name. this actually is the best poem in the contest. Only a few words, but they created an image of perfection.

Oh this is good! I'm not really fond of geraniums actually although I like haikus. I prefer orchids and weirder flowers with weirder petals. But the way this scene is described is just perfect. Short and sweet. Literally. I like the word "cuttings" in there. For some reason, it adds this rougher feel to the whole softness of flowers and blossoming things. I like edgy stuff. Anyway, well Mr. Jane's father, this is splendid like Splenda. Beautiful.
