Angel In Disguise.

No wings soaring towards the horizon,
No divine light to dazzle the eyes,
No music to lurch the soul,
No halo of high Ecstasy.

Just a pair of working hands,
Strong shoulders to cry upon,
A large heart with a steady beat,
A sharp mind and treasure memories.

This is to a lady not divine,
But my angel in disguise,
My angel who watches over me,
Cleared the path, removed so many many thorns.

She watched me as I grew,
Watched me take my first steps,
Encouraged my first words,
And taught me my first songs.

Cheered as I cheered, if not louder,
Laughed at my corny jokes.
And yet kept a wary eye,
As I began to explore the road called Life.

There were times I stumbled,
And she banished away my tears,
Comforted me when they wouldn't stop,
Supported me, when I couldn't be comforted.

She moulded me into a person I dreamt of being,
Standing up for all that is good and right,
Pushing me into the lime light,
Standing outside its periphery, glowing.

Flowers may not blossom at her footsteps,
Birds may not burst into song,
Men may not shiver at the mention of her name,
Reverend Scholars may not bow as she passes,

But who really cares for all that nonsense?
What really matter is that,
We all who know you love you,
So here is to you Mom,
our angel is disguise.

Is this the poem in the bottle? It's very sweet and nice, and I didn't realize realize it was about your mom until the middle... I must be slow. But anyway, another great poem. I've wrote a whole lot I need to post! >.<

This is one of the best poems ever! Seriously! Oh, now I am so sad, cos I can really relate to it, because my mum is my angel on Earth, but, unfortunately, I always say horrible things to her, and I do not deserve her.
But your poem, which is so beautiful and sincere, has made me think. Lovely, simply lovely!
    *sniff*
Thanks for sharing and for making my day, I am looking forward to reading more.
    See ya around...

I just read my comment and I undercredited you big time.

Your poem was loving, hopeful, and it is the type of poems that are needed on this website! This poem was full of love and emotion. This was written straight from the heart and mind. This angel in disguise was a good mom.

besides the ending, it was a good poem. Out of 10, I would give it a 7.

    7/10 not bad.

    pretty good in my opinion.

that part was the part that ruined it for me.

Ugh, you did so good, but killed it with the ending! It just didn't flow right with me... I just had trouble reading it.

Nevertheless this was a thougthful poem.

    Work on that ending.

to have someone like that in our life is splendid. to be someone like that to someone else, divine.

Awesome, yes she certainly is the real angel ,
Earth's angel. And i can see it came from your heart literally!!
Something almost every one can relate to no doubt and hence universally appealing.

Speechless. This was breath taking and I don't believe I've ever said that about another poem. This really pulled at my heart strings. I wrote a letter to my mom. She is my best friend and means the world to me. She was just diagnosed with a terminal illness about 6 months ago. Im so sorry I have no points or applause left.....because you really deserve it. Amazing write. Beautiful.
