Annihilating the apple cart

A lover drawn into a callous game
into a web her tongue to young to name
so uncle if perhaps you could refrain
your hollow prayers are only made in vain

Your kisses oh so gentle from the start
Forced open the warm flower of her heart
Did you ponder on the soul you'd tear apart
your lustful deeds annihilating the apple cart

And do you haunt another girl's jeans
as I'm left chasing my broken dreams?

trying to mend the wounds unseen
that I've done wrong, or am unclean

try to unbuild the glassy wall
Detached, so I don't feel at all

Emotion drips through cracks in mortar
Yet apathy, a wave like water

Breaks over me, til I can't breathe
But somewhere I must still believe

Despite the lingering taint of you
That I am more, I will pull through.

The thing that I often think about is that sexual abuse affects so many, and often sexual predators themselves have been abused. I've also read reports on prostitution and most of the women within that industry are also victims of abuse.
You're a courageous woman to speak so frankly of your own experience, and I think awareness is so crucial. Together, survivors like ourselves can band together and say it really isn't ok. Reading works like yours and others in to contest helps also to heal, I think.
Thanks for your comments and also the inspiration to write my piece.

    GREAT JOB!!!!! :F

As I said on my author's comment, it is so sad to see what some children endure in life. At times it is just too late when something is done about it. This is very well put together, and I am sure that the percentage of physically, mentally, sexually abused children is way higher than what the statistic show. good luck in the contest, AngelicMistress
