Offensive Weapons In Space

The U.S. Department of Defense
Wants to put offensive weapons in space.
To some this seems somewhat dense --
Attacking others of the human race.

Where is “God is love” received?
In our government is it conceived?
The U.S. military is deceived.
“Might makes right” is believed.

Looking down on earth from above,
An orbiting weapon for destruction from space
For use by those with no love,
An UN-Christian, unloving disgrace

Say bye bye to God, don’t cry.
Christ was just another guy.
For their God the terrorists really try.
We put our God to bed, bye bye.

Once again, they spend their time conceiving of ways to destroy humanity. We'll probably have the great distinction of being the generation to extinguish human life from the planet. Something to be proud of I guess, lol.

    Quite Good

I think you have a legitamate point, it is hard to love some people. Like leaders who make war for no reason, this is hard to love. Why we need offensive weapons in space when we are already the most powerful military nation in the world is beyond me. Someday China may be a significant threat as they have more resourses and people. The only true hope is for governments to put their faith and support in the United Nations.

I used to be Christian, but I quit for various reasons. The main reason is God does not belong to any religion and the bible has many flaws. I feel I am much closer to God now and that I have stopped misleading others. I used to be a Southern Baptist Minister. I think the bible is a poor history of the evolution of religion and that God has long ago left those who are stuck in it behind.

I am going to add you to my favorites and be back to read more of your anti-war and peace section. The poem is quite good.

    Provoking

this is so sad and yet so real...no religion encourages terror and war but it seems more and more people just want to kill in the name of God, this is a true injustice and i wish we could all do more to stop it. you can never fight fire with fire because it create more fire but it is truly water that destroys fire...
so shame to all the religious extremists who think killing people will bring them closer to God

i really love this poem it really brings out a lot of emotion which i hope i can put to good use...
