Cyber Romance

Cyber Romance

Was it just His words which made me
Stay up half the night?
I recall the words He sent to me
In that instant message bright.

I'm so confused - how could this be?
He stole away my pain
With a message from computer keys
Our lives now not the same.

We chat, we talk ... communicate
From sea to shining sea
But though it's good, it doesn't rate
Against where we'd rather be.

Another lonely Valentine's
Spent chatting through the air
I know His wish is just like mine -
Real life just can't compare.

So Happy Valentine, my Love
May this year grant Your wish
And next year may your little dove
Be there to claim Your kiss.

From my standpoint, the interweave b/t real life and cyber life is intergraded nicely while at the same time you pulled off the emotional aspects coming from both point of views

    Adorable

I like this sweet poem, I believe it's really important to become friends before you consider anything else My only confusion at first was the capitalization of He, Him, You, etc. I thought this was religious and you were speaking to your deity, LOL I hope he puts his pants on, one leg at a time like everyone else just kidding...sorry Meter is a little uneven, but good rhyme! Thanks for a great read!

    Soul touched!

This is a beautiful write and one that touches me in a very very special way...because I am in love with a guy whom I met last year, just once...but love is just once and happens in a flash...that one look you exchange when you look into each other's eyes...is LOVE! We've talked so many things, everything under the moon(not sun..lol..cos we talk mostly at night after he gets home from work) and I truly truly want to spend the rest of my life with him. I think it is the best choice I've decided to ever make in my whole life. His love is a beacon of paradise to me. He offers me warmth, love, we share everything there is to share. I feel complete with him..without him, I feel like a part of my soul is missing and I am incomplete. He makes me feel like a sexy woman all the time and I can forget all about the cellulite that cuddles around my hips and thighs. Someone who makes me feel so wanted, so happy and so cherished...that is he..

You touched my heart and struck a chord deep within me with this write. I know the longing your heart holds for a personal touch, mine too does. All in His time dear friend. We shall have that KISS and HUG..the first one in person. Ahhh...that would be one moment of a lifetime! Cheers to your romance and mine!

And, ofcourse, all the best in the contest!
    Charishma

What a sweet poem. I have just held someone's hand via Yahoo Messenger, helped her through hard time. I know well enough that love - genuine affection, deep love, true sexual commitment and involvement - are possible via that medium

Wow, you know, I've been told that online love is not affectionate, but hey since when is love a "must be this" type thing? lOVE IS LOVE! However, wherever, whenever, and especially whoever. This is true to the last period, and I respect it for that. Lovely. have a happy v-day <3

*Nods* Your right, definaitly well written. Using simple language and form, you express a complex feeling to the reader in a way that it is impossible for them not to relate to. The joy and price, of such a love, and the hope that travels the distance.

This is a subject dear to my heart. I wrote a script a few years ago called Cybersux. It is a story about a cyber couple meeting but they get mixed up with another couple at the airport. It's a very funny movie.

I also have a poem ..which tells the story of a computer love affair.

This poem blends beautifully with both of those. It is an excellent and very romantic Valentines Day poem.

    very well done.

    Beautiful

Some of my truest friendships are with people I have not met and yet we know that when we do it will be glorious.Getting to know a person through words is an absolutely beautiful way of entering into their soul.Yes you will share that kiss and all will be well. A Poem that speaks to the heart and is original in content with loving imagery just perfect for Valentine's Day.Good luck in the Contest.Elizabeth.

Beautiful. Once upon a time I fell in love with this boy I had never even seen before.. I lived in Arizona and he lived in Indiana... but it was one of the most deep relationships I've ever had. He woed me and read me poetry over the phone, wrote me long love letters. It was so awsome. Great job.

I believe it is possible to develop affectionate feelings via communication over cyberspace, when we communicate our thoughts, our beliefs, when we react and reply to another person that we are in tune with and echo their interests we find ourselves on the same "wavelenth" we communicate with the very essence of them without judging on appearance etcetera. However, you made a valid point, however comforting it it is t have your heart warmed by cyber romance ,it doesn`t compare to the reality of experiencing a relationship with someone in person. To hug,to hold hands,to walk by the sea,to have someone stroke your brow as you fall asleep,to massage your aching shoulders,to just sit in companiamle silence with and feel complete, after all,as humans we need the touch of another human being,we need to touch, studies have proven that even the stroking of pets is beneficial to humand that are depressed or ill .Havin said that,I wouldn`t be without my cyber friends who are special to me,they are not my life but I am really glad they are part of it,and I regularly send them a virtual hug,Love and Light,Yvette

    Good

I think your very much inlove...
You know it also happen to me...Tha I have a love one but only in cyber(computer, chatting, and in cellphone).
I really enjoy my company with her...because of her thoughtfulness in sending me a message...

But I think it's not good to have a Lover just in Cyber or in the enternet(computer)
But how can we fool ourselves,, because of their thoughtfulness are we not going to pay back what they show Us??

    Great write...I really like this..
    Bravo....
    Nice..
    Gifted Poet..

    God Bless.........

it is amazing how people reaching out to others, but never touching them, can make one feel. It is hard to keep reality in the life of the net, but when the fantasy becomes reality..then it can be called real. this poem will be open to may interetations, some harsh, and some supportive..just a array. thanks for reading my work.

    blessed be
