Your perfect little girl

Your perfect little girl...

dropped a grade in math.

talked back to you again.

paintz her nails black.

liez to you.

criez herself to sleep.

dated before sixteen.

was broken by a boy.

doesnt go to church.

has given up on life.

wants to run away.

thinks shes fat & ugly.

doesn't let you dry her tears.

disobeyz you constantly.

hates her world.

faxe a smile everyday.

has become a disgrace.

But at the end of the day, shes still your perfect little girl.

    Great

Oh! How every parent must feel at some point in their life of raising a child! No matter what their kids are doing. Beautiful. I liked how you said every negative thing someone could do to someone that cares for them, and in the end, they still have compassion and love for whoever is not so giving and loving.

    very well written

I like the way you list all of the imperfect things this girl does or has done. It is sad and very heartwarming at the same time because of your ending sentence.
    Great write!

hey, so you know my daughter too?

Well written poem, and one I can certainly relate to. Not sure which is worse, teenage years or the terrible two's!

    Thank you for sharing this

    Wonderful

I could actually cry. I am a big scary indian boy at least my outer appearance says that, but I am really a big teddy bear. I have a sister who is 20 and didnt go through this, but I have a very very close friend who went through this, and she is still my perfect little girl. Well not mine, but you know, the big brother in me says that. My friend is my perfect little girl. I love this poem. You are a master of words. It doesnt matter what what my friend does, she is still my perfect little girl just like your poem says. Keep on writing please.

    You'll all see someday.

I love how can you take this poem from multiple points of view. You can see it from a friend loving someone, a mom, or a dad, a grandparent. It all makes sense either way and that is what I really find endearing about this poem. You take everything that she is and write it like someone watching it. I feel sorry because I wish almost there was something you could do for someone like that, but then again loving them is the greatest thing you can do right?

Wow! Amazing and I think a lot of people could relate. I know I can relate to part of it, especially the line: fakes a smile everyday, that's what I do. Keep up the great work and keep on writing

    DOOOOOOOOOOOM!

This is extrememly clever. Cleverness is something that can either make or break a poem and you've taken it to perfection. It's real-life and incredibly smooth. It makes you wanna keep going and anticipate the next line. I commend you.

    Love you.

A bit of a sad poem~ It showed history as I read down the poem and as events started to spiral downward. Although having your father still view you as your little girl. It speaks for itself. Kind of feels like unconditional love to me. Nicely written Keep on writing!
