Come
fish my lake, my love,
you are the warmth
that permeates my shallow depths.
Deeper,
deep,
my chill still waits.
True embrace of hearts
will heat emotions
long asleep.
Listen to the water
lapping softly 'cross my shore.
Soothed by small waves
then uncovered as before.
Moist stones
and sunken sand
will soak us
in your soothing heat.
My surface glimmers
with the light you bring.
Reflected waves
shine askew,
as my ripples
break the beams of you.
They overwhelm me.
Crystal clear am I,
no silt,
no murky vision to obscure,
you see me all at once,
uneven,
unknown surfaces
within my shadowy depths.
I am comfort
for the fish you seek,
they thrive
here in my soul.
You mimic nature
with illusion,
enticing them,
as you seduced me.
Am I rewarded
by response
to your lures?
My lake is stocked
with what you need
and what you want.
Your lines and hook
will work as miracles,
pulling from my depths
the best,
long hidden,
now expressed
for only you.
Only you,
who with the thinnest thread,
of words
aimed at my heart,
may fish my lake,
wake me,
take me
with happiness,
from my lone, cold sleep.
