Stuffing, crushing, pushing, shoving,
looking for that special gift.
What matches her eyes? Whats her dress size?
Why didn’t he bring that list?
Roses, posies, carnations or moms?
Is there anyone working today?
He needs some help fast – his patience wont last
Too late – he’s running away!
So many cards – which one will he choose?
What one reads what he really feels?
Teddy bears, rings, too many things.
This battle he fears he will lose.
The pressure, the stress,
Womans, plus size or misses?
The man didn’t know...
...That all she wants is his kisses.

great poem! You have an interesting rhyme pattern, all lines are very well written and nothign seems forced. The message too is wonderful. I loved that last stanza, it really works so well to tell about the way we turn valentines day into a shopping spree. Loved the whole poem, very well written!

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a sweet thing to write to your husband. I definately know the confusion of trying to get the perfect thing for valentines day for your love, but really, in the end, it's not how much money is spent or how exquisite the gift-I would much prefer just sitting at home with my boyfriend cuddling up and watching a movie. The simple pleasures of life make me the happiest, apparently you too. I loved the style of this poem. it was terrific. Keep up the good work and thanks so much for sharing this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A sweet ode for all men to read ...you are so right , what gift can a guy give that says more than giving himself to you affectionately ? I don`t know if it`s the adverts that persuades them that a box of ferrero rocher is romantic /affectionate but...kinda reminds me of a good friend of mine that was desolate as she had no spare cash to buy her guy something for valentines day , she asked my advice and I advized her to gift wrap herself to him...she said he was delighted ! After all, that`s what we truly give to our loved one , ourselves ...thankyou for the sweet poem, an insight for men and women alike ! p.s.
