5 haiku - From my window

gentle  breeze lifts leaves
white blossoms softly falling
drifting slowly down

pantiles on roof-ridge
cutting grey douceur of clouds
chaffinch flitting by

sudden shock of pink
azaleas defy me!
happiness in spring.

brush-stroke of a cloud
cannot hide an azure sky
triumph in heaven!

weathered squares of wood
trellis bears honeysuckle
promising sweetness

Author notes

This is one of the first groups of haiku I ever wrote. I am conscious now of how many rules of the form I broke whilst writing them. Originally they were in a Z-shape across the page, to emphasise that they could be taken in any order. Any of them may be taken as an individual haiku, rather than part of a small, themed collection.

Thank you for your praise. I am not satisfied with this set, I'm afraid.

Your words fall gracefully like spring blossoms drifting from a tree. Lovely.
