Nevermind the winding road
Ahead lies life we've yet to lead
Toe to toe with impossible dreams
Precocious and lusting ignorant to defeat
One step at a time child
Nevermind the winding road
A rare breed prefers to make his own
Alone against the world and himself
A mustard seed of faith and a lemmings perseverance
One step at a time friend
Nevermind the winding road
Behind us the hills and valleys collide
Changed and preserved by the words we abide
Apprehensively sure after going this far
One step at a time sir
Nevermind the winding road
Chagrined and full of briar's sting
Behind us now a life worth living
Offering a torch to the one's we leave behind
One step at a time old man
