She's heart-broken,
lost,
destroyed she says,
and she can't find here place.
He left her quick,
and he left her cold.
Now I'm here so she can let here story unfold.
10 months she said,
that's how long her love was spent.
Now she lays shattered on the floor,
crying in her deep despair.
But what am I to do?
Do I comfort her blood red tears,
or do I let her go?
She wants to die,
that's the only way she will feel at peace.
But do I let her go,
or do I keep her here with me?
I don't know what to do,
I don't know what to say.
She can't move her way around this,
she just doesn't want to stay.
But who am I to tell her what she can and cannot do?
Oh, I'm just the one she trusts in the most,
the one she looks up the most to.
If I let her stay,
she'll live her life uneasy,
she'll wonder off astray.
But can I live without her love,
can i afford to lose her touch?
To keep her here would be selfish,
inappropriate,
out of place.
But to let her go would be foolish,
and truly a big mistake.
To let her go, would cause me so much pain.
To let her stay, would mean an angel would lose it's wings.
So, I've decided to let her go.
To let her out into the world,
so she can live her life her way.
As for me, what should I do?
Captivated by her spirit,
lost in her pain.
I must follow her,
wherever she may go,
and through whatever she may do.
She knows I love her,
I'd give her my life.
But I think it's just as good,
to go with her,
than never live my life without her.
Author notes
This poem i wrote for a very close and special friend of mine. She means everything to me and it hurts me very much to see her in such pain. If i could take away all of her pain, i would, but for now, my words are all i have.
