A Long Night
Awake all night, mind in turmoil, alone
Thoughts rampage, taking routes of their own
Possibilities, unrealities, wishful thinking
Rain lashing, black window, mixed feelings
Isolation, listlessness, fatigue takes root
Body twitching, back aching, volume mute
Vivid images, so real, can almost smell
Deep thinking, pointless, bottomless well
Selfish, immobile, dark thoughts arise
Bleak future, lost dreams, now sunrise
New dawn, new dreams, not found yet
Dank morning, damp spirit, goals not met
Ablutions, don smile, make toast and tea
False humour, light hearted, family
Scared, fear permeating, back of mind
Control, get grip, don’t lose this time
Staring, blankly, focusing, leafless trees
Grey skies, fine drizzle, stiff cold breeze
Past haunting, no smile, future daunting
Winter coming, fortitude, needing spring

Ahhh yes...a long night indeed that was.......sat staring at my pills sat in a pile for hours.....still in the past....thanks for reading
BTW....just tried a triptych....off the cuff as it were...LOL -
