I am American
I practice my religion because I choose to,
not because the state mandates it.
I believe that FREE SPEECH applies to everyone.
not just those who agree with me.
I believe in civic responsibility,
not preferential treatment
I believe in the constitution as LAW,
not merely a suggestion
I believe in strong defense,
not armed aggression
I believe in an honest day's work for an honest wage,
not in looking for a free government hand-out.
I believe in a legal redress of grievances,
not in frivolous lawsuits for personal gain.
I served my country because I believe in it,
not because anyone told me to.
I want my taxes to help my country and its people.
not just line the pockets of the rich
I do not expect anyone to give me more than I have earned.
I do not feel myself entitled to a life of privilege,
a life free of all offenses,
or the standards to be lowered to accommodate my laziness
I accept willingly a life of hard work, sacrifice, duty,
and observance of the constitution and the law.
I hold myself accountable for all transgressions which I have committed ,
and accept the penalties prescribed thereon with dignity.
I declare that I am a human being, with rights and values,
and resolve to live my life with respect
to my land, my community, and myself.

excellent write, great job in showing the belief and support of what this country is basically based upon. too many people look for the 'easy' button and aren't willing to work for what they can earn and deserve.
